Laurie Bosworth joined the Jacksonville Journal-Courier as an editorial assistant in 2017 after a 20-year career in the healthcare field. She is originally from Massachusetts, where her father was a photographer and pressman for The Patriot Ledger and her uncle started The Quincy Sun, a well-known newspaper in Massachusetts being run today by her cousin. In addition to her editorial assistant duties, Laurie is a contributing columnist who was honored with an Illinois Press Association award in 2021. She has two sons, both serving in the U.S. Army.
